Create a series of cinematic, human-led documentaries exploring what football means to people and communities across Africa. Set against the journey to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the films needed to reach beyond match coverage to reveal how the game shapes identity, opportunity and belonging. FIFA wanted compelling stories, striking visuals and authentic African voices that would resonate locally and engage audiences around the world.
We sourced and developed stories across Kenya, Nigeria, Morocco and Senegal, working with local filmmakers and contributors to deliver end-to-end production, from research and filming through editing and final delivery, including social media cuts. The unscripted films explored women’s empowerment in football, inclusion through a team of players with albinism, community outreach, and the family legacy of a local club with a global presence. Each story combined cinematic visuals with the voices and lived experiences of the people at its heart.
The series was released on FIFA+.
Bring the human stories behind agriculture, food security and development programmes into focus. Chemonics needed photography, video and human-interest storytelling that showed people’s experiences of investment, livelihoods and resilience, with particular attention to women, young people and underrepresented communities.
We delivered films, visual journalism stories and photography in each of the four countries—Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali and Uganda—working across multiple cities and locations to bring local experiences of livelihoods, investment and resilience into focus.
For this project, our team handled the complete production: story development, journalistic interviews, photography, filming, editing, motion animation, graphs, graphics, translations and subtitles and captions. We brought the reporting, visuals and design together into finished stories, from the first interview to the final animated detail.
A collection of films, visual journalism stories and photographs spanning four countries, delivered through one coordinated production team. The work combined local reporting with original imagery, animation and data visuals to make complex development stories accessible and engaging.

Pinned Media original development project
Develop an original documentary series celebrating the women and communities shaping grassroots football in the UK. Conceived as a six-part format, the project explored everyday participation, faith, representation and the people and organisations opening doors for women in the game. The ambition was to reach beyond established football audiences through intimate, relatable stories of identity, opportunity and belonging.
We developed the concept, sourced contributors and produced three short documentaries exploring everyday women in football, Muslim women’s experiences of the game, and the organisations creating opportunities for women and girls. Through personal interviews, observational filming and football action, we connected life on the pitch with the people and communities behind it.
Three original short documentaries that generated interest among commissioners and demonstrated our ability to discover compelling contributors, develop an unscripted format and bring underrepresented football stories to the screen.
